The Baby Tile Vessel uses thinner tiles and more layers, to maximise textural contrast. They’re perfect for flowers handpicked on neighbourhood strolls or from your garden.
The techniques and aesthetics used in this vessel are a continuation of the 2018 series ‘Construct, Disrupt’. Each slab has a different texture created with rocks or a plaster mould. The textured slabs are cut and layered upon one another, slip oozes from in-between the slabs to create a seam. The exterior has a matte red finish, with glossy seams and a white gloss interior glaze.
This object was hand-built and fired in Naarm. Materials were sourced from Walker Ceramics.
