Tile Vessel (Red) - Residency
Porcelain, glaze, underglaze
180L × 160W × 210H mm

The techniques and aesthetics used in this vessel are a continuation of the 2018 series ‘Construct, Disrupt’. Each slab has a different texture created with rocks or a plaster mould. The textured slabs are cut and layered upon one another, slip oozes from inbetween the slabs to create a seam. The exterior has a matte red finish with glazed seams and a white gloss interior glaze.

This vessel was created during my Virtual Makers in Residence at Craft Victoria, you can see it being created on my instagram page.

This object was hand-built in Melbourne and fired at The Kiln Room. Materials were sourced from Walker Ceramics.
