Tiled Rock (Sculptural Object) in Blue
Porcelain, glaze, underglaze
130L × 110W × 220H mm

The techniques and aesthetics used in this vessel are a continuation of the 2018 series ‘Construct, Disrupt’. Each slab has a different texture created with rocks or a plaster mould. The textured slabs are cut and layered upon one another, slip oozes from inbetween the slabs to create a seam. This experimental, sculptural object is a closed form object. It has a matte blue finish with glazed deep blue seams.

This object was hand-built in Melbourne and fired at The Kiln Room. Materials were sourced from Walker Ceramics.
